K-9 Ivan’s Presence Helps Kennewick Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect
It's a shout-out to our awesome K9 officers here in the Tri-Cities. They don't receive the recognition they deserve, but the Kennewick Police Department, in a recent posting, reminds us of the great work these dogs do.
Wanted Suspects Surrender After Seeing Kennewick K-9 Ivan
K-9 Ivan has been busy lately, according to a posting from the Kennewick Police Department.
Kennewick Police Say K-9 Ivan's Presence Prevented Use of Force
K-9 Ivan took down two suspects over the last few weeks.
During the last few days, he and his handler located several wanted individuals. One male was wanted for armed robbery. Another male was wanted from several local police incidents to include assault – domestic violence, order violation, and unlawful imprisonment. Both males, who had a history of fleeing from police, immediately complied upon seeing K9 Ivan.

Kennewick Police also noted that most suspects will quickly give up and not flee because getting bitten by a K-9 officer will leave quite a mark.
KPD noted that the mere presence of Ivan will often lead to the suspects giving up before the chase even begins.
I thought I'd take a brief moment to shout out to our K-9's and how awesome they are. I'm sure Ivan is going to get a big juicy steak for his efforts.
